When starting off getting clients online, the first question a freelancer asks is how to find freelance jobs on LinkedIn.
LinkedIn is a good place to start, especially since the community is growing and so the demands for freelancers is growing as well.
I’m first going to cover the easiest and quickest way to find freelance remote work through LinkedIn. The answer might make you laugh.
1 – Basic Search
Don’t believe me? You’ll see in the video.
I’m going to type in different keywords related to what my freelance services are.
Freelance Web Developer
Freelance Web Designer
Freelance WordPress Developer
This will show you all the most recent posts about LinkedIn users searching for web developers, writers, logo designers, customer service, and much more!Get creative with the search, what would someone post if they were looking for your service?
2 – Profile Optimization
Great, you found work! But are you looking professional?
Before applying to any jobs, check your profile to make sure you are presenting yourself in a professional manner.
2.1 – Let’s go over the profile picture.
I’ve put some examples here so you can see what I mean.
A good profile picture has good lighting. It needs to be clear and visible. You don’t need an expensive camera to get a high quality photo. If you can’t get a decent camera then do the best you can.
Practice writing copy to attract your ideal client. Check your competitors using search to see what better profiles are doing for their descriptions.
Have a well structured and proofread description that will present who you are, what you do, and how you solve problems for your clients.
BONUS: Using Account Like A Landing Page
Give your profile plenty of calls to action, use my LinkedIn profile (linked below) as a reference.
Write about your client’s pain points, and how you can solve them.
DID I MENTION CALLS TO ACTION?
3 – Long Term Work
Now that you know how to quickly find work, it’s best to have steady leads coming in 24/7 through LinkedIn. Focus on building your brand, adding value to the community, and taking good care of your clients!!
